Add Page Numbers to PDF
Easily insert page numbers into your PDF documents. Customize the position, font size, and color for a professional finish. All processing is done securely in your browser.
- Select PDF: Click the button to upload your PDF document.
- Customize Options: Choose where to place the numbers, what number to start with, and the font size/color.
- Apply & Download: Click the "Add Numbers & Download" button. The tool will process the file and your browser will automatically download the new, numbered PDF.
This tool uses the `pdf-lib` JavaScript library to modify PDF documents directly in your browser. When you upload a file and set your options, the tool reads the PDF, iterates through each page, and draws the page number text in your specified location and style. This entire process happens on your local machine, and your files are never sent to a server.
Can I use different fonts or formats (e.g., "Page 1 of X")?
Currently, the tool uses a standard Helvetica font. More advanced formatting options, like different fonts and text formats, are planned for future updates.
Will this tool work on password-protected PDFs?
No. If your PDF is encrypted, you must first remove the password using our 'Unlock PDF' tool or other software before you can add page numbers.
Is this process secure and private?
Absolutely. Your files and settings are never uploaded or transmitted. All processing is performed on your own computer by your browser.
