What is Text-Converters.com?
Text-Converters.com is a free collection of 18 reviewed, single-purpose web tools for working with text, data, files, and images. Instead of installing a different desktop app for every little job — converting a JSON file to CSV, decoding a JWT, stripping formatting out of a block of text, generating a QR code, or merging a PDF — you can do it here in a few seconds, directly in the browser tab you already have open. There is nothing to download, no account to create, and no usage limit to run into.
The project started as a personal toolbox. Like most developers and writers, we kept bouncing between a dozen different single-tool websites, each one cluttered with pop-ups and each one quietly uploading our text to a server somewhere. We wanted one fast, clean place where the tools we reach for every day live side by side and where our data stays on our own machine. That is the site you are looking at.
Local processing wherever practical
Most tools are built to run client-side. For those tools, pasted text and selected files are processed inside your browser with JavaScript, avoiding an upload-and-wait round trip. Features that rely on an external API, such as AI-powered tools or a request sent to a URL you provide, disclose that behavior on the page before you run them. Always review the disclosure before entering sensitive information.
What you can do here
The tools are grouped into a few broad areas so you can find what you need quickly:
- Text & content: change letter case, find and replace, remove duplicate lines, count words and characters, sort lists, wrap or number lines, and clean up messy formatting pasted from other apps.
- Data & developer: format and validate JSON, convert between JSON, CSV, YAML and TOML, decode JWTs, generate hashes and checksums, beautify or minify code, and inspect data structures.
- Web & encoding: Base64, URL and HTML encoding, color format conversion, CSS unit conversion, meta-tag and favicon generation, and contrast checking for accessible design.
- Files & images: merge, split, merge, split, rotate, and add page numbers to PDFs, convert between image formats, resize images, extract a color palette, and turn pictures into Base64 or PDF.
The featured tools include independently written explanations, examples, and links to longer guides. The broader utility library remains available for focused tasks while its documentation is expanded and reviewed.
Who it's for
Developers use it to debug payloads and convert data formats without writing a throwaway script. Writers and editors use it to fix capitalization, strip stray formatting, and count words against a limit. Students, analysts, marketers, and anyone who occasionally has to wrangle a file all use it for the same reason: the job that would take ten minutes and a new app installation takes about ten seconds instead. The tools are free because they are cheap to run and we think utilities like these should simply exist — open in a tab, do the job, and get out of your way.
