The QR Code Reader is a versatile utility for extracting information from QR (Quick Response) codes. Whether you have a QR code saved as an image file or need to scan one live with your camera, this tool provides a fast and secure solution. Because the entire decoding process happens in your browser, your images and camera data are never uploaded to a server, ensuring your privacy.
To scan from a file:
- Select the 'From File' tab.
- Click 'Choose QR Code Image' and select an image from your device.
- The tool will automatically scan the image and display the result.
To scan from your camera:
- Select the 'From Camera' tab.
- Click 'Start Scanning'. Your browser will ask for permission to use your camera.
- Once you grant permission, point your camera at a QR code.
- The tool will automatically detect the code and display the decoded text.
What if the QR code is not detected?
Ensure the QR code is clear, well-lit, and not blurry. For camera scanning, hold your device steady. If using a file, make sure the image is of a reasonable quality.
Why does the tool need camera permission?
Camera access is required to capture the live video feed needed to scan QR codes in real-time. Your camera feed is processed locally in your browser and is not recorded or transmitted anywhere.
